Do I have to answer every question?

If your library is participating in the Opportunity Online grant program, the Gates Foundation requires you to answer certain questions. These questions are indicated in the survey. If your library is not participating in the grant program, which questions you answer is up to you. We encourage you answer all questions, however, because they more data we have, the more accurate our results will be.

 

Can I save my answers and finish the survey later?

Yes, you can save your answers at anytime by clicking the ‘stop and resume later’ button at the bottom of each survey question page. To get back into the survey later, use your ID to login, find your library and click the button that says ‘resume’ or ‘completed.’

 

Can I change my answers after I have completed the survey?

Yes, you can change your answers at any time until November 7. To do this, use your ID to login, find your library and click the button that says "completed." You must then click the "next" button to save your response. You may then click the stop and resume button to exit the survey.

 

How do I view my answers?

To view your answer, find your library and click the ‘view’ button. This will open a web page with your answers.

 

How do I print my answers?

To print your answers, find your library and click the ‘print’ button. This will open a pdf file with your answers that can be printed.

 

I am still in FY10. How do I answer questions about FY11 and FY12?

For questions that ask about FY11, answer for whatever fiscal year you are currently in. For questions that ask about FY12, answer for your next fiscal year.

 

How do I answer budget questions when I don’t know what my budget will be for next year?

If you do not know your budget for next year, you may skip any question that asks about it.

 

I cannot break down the sources of my funding.

If you cannot break your funding down by source, you can report all expenditures under ‘Local/County.’

 

When I clicked the ‘verify survey completion’ button, I was told I had not completed the survey. Why? What do I do now?

If your library is participating in the Opportunity Online grant program, the Gates Foundation requires that you answer certain questions. To answer any required questions that you may have missed, click the 'completed' button to go back into the survey and use the ‘Next’ button to go through the survey questions, answering those that were missed.
